The Allen County Bar Association endeavors to support and enhance the practice of law in Allen County. When you belong to the ACBA, you have the force of nearly 700 lawyers and paralegals behind you.

Education
Your legal education continues even after you pass the bar exam. Keeping up with changes in the law and trends in the practice is vital. Every year the ACBA offers dozens of continuing education programs, from small programs open only to section members to all day events with nationally known speakers. Whether you are a new attorney Members receive advance notice of programs and discounts for the association’s CLE programs.

Opportunities to Expand Your Practice
Whether you are a solo practitioner opening a new office or an experienced attorney in a large firm, knowing the right people will help your career. The ACBA is the place to make connections with other members of the legal community who can help you serve your clients better and develop your practice. Association activities offer numerous opportunities to meet other attorneys in private, corporate and non-profit practice and to build new relationships. Make yourself known by writing an article for one of the association’s newsletters or being a speaker at a continuing education program. Become a member of some of our nearly thirty committees and sections. Join the Lawyer Referral Service to have prescreened potential clients referred to you. Whether it is a continuing education luncheon, summertime gathering in the courtyard, or committee meetings, the ACBA offers numerous ways to connect with other members.

Community Involvement
ACBA members are noted for being actively involved in the community, both through association activities and independently. The association offers numerous ways for members to enhance the lives of others through service, including presentations to schools and other organizations, free legal advice by telephone on Tuesday evenings, Family Fun Day during the Three Rivers Festival, and the Volunteer Lawyer Program.
